Friends of the Forest library booths – a mid-week update!

Love Our MacRitchie Forest

Over the past weekend (2nd and 3rd September 2017), the children’s sections of Jurong Regional Library and Central Public Library went abuzz with the sights and sounds of our forests, as the NUS Toddycats brought in animal specimens from the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum for the “Friends of the Forest” conservation booths. These booths showcasing our local biodiversity were organized as part of the Love Our MacRitchie Forest movement.

There were lots of fun activities such as quiz times at Jurong Regional Library, where kids stood a chance to win prizes. At Central Public Library, Jose from Toddycats and Mindy from Cicada Tree Eco-Place conducted a storytelling and poem-reading session, enchanting the young audience while reminding them to take care of Mother Nature. Throughout the day, the kids (and parents) were enthralled by the tales of how Oriental Pied Hornbill parents each play their own role…
